How to Care for Your DHaRCO Rain Jacket
Keep your jacket performing at its best — and the rain rolling right off — with a little regular care.

1. Wash it, don’t baby it.
Dirt and sweat can block the fabric’s breathability and stop water from beading. Wash your jacket every 10–15 wears or whenever it starts to “wet out.”
- Close all zips and Velcro.
- Use a gentle cycle in cold or warm water (max 30°C).
- Use a mild, technical detergent made for waterproof or breathable fabrics.
- Avoid regular detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners — they strip the DWR coating.

2. Reactivate the water repellency.
After washing, tumble dry on low to medium heat for 15–20 minutes. A bit of heat helps reactivate the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish that makes water bead and roll off.
No dryer? You can also iron on low heat (no steam), using a towel between the iron and the fabric.
